Registered Dietitian counselling for all ages (including pediatric) offered to patients of NFHT associated clinics facing nutrition concerns. To book an appointment online click here.
The program is for:
- Nutrition Across the Lifespan – infant nutrition, transitioning to solids, picky eating, adolescent nutrition, prenatal nutrition, pregnancy nutrition, postpartum and breastfeeding nutrition, menopausal nutrition, older adult nutrition (loss of appetite, unintentional weight loss, swallowing difficulty).
- Digestion Discomfort – irritable bowel syndrome, irritable bowel disease (Chron’s, Colitis), acid reflux/heartburn, gall stones, pancreatitis, diverticulitis, constipation, diarrhea
- Disease Management – Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular Disease, Dyslipidemia (High Cholesterol, High Triglycerides), Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Cancer, Gout, Kidney Stones, COPD.
- Food allergies or intolerances – Celiac disease, lactose intolerance
- Vitamin and mineral deficiencies – such as iron deficiency or Anemia
- Joint and bone pain – arthritis, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, anti-inflammatory
- Healthy Living – weight loss, vegetarian/vegan eating, disordered eating, intuitive eating
- Individual visits (in person, at home, or by telephone) for assessment, management, and teaching related to nutritional concern
- Group Workshops
- Food and Mood Group

- Dietitian: Regulated health professionals that undergo comprehensive and rigorous training to use the title of Registered Dietitian. In order to become a Dietitian, they must complete an accredited bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition and also an internship following graduation. Dietitians are different than Nutritionists as Dietitians are held to a high standard of education and ethics through the College of Dietitians of Ontario, and they rely on scientific information to drive their nutritional recommendations.
- What they do: Dietitians look beyond diets to provide their clients with life-changing nutrition and behavioural advice to enable their clients to reach optimal health and reduce disease symptoms.
