CHIROPODIST – Footcare Program Permanent Part Time (2-3 days per week)

Northumberland Family Health Team (NFHT) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Chiropodist to work as part of our Footcare team. Together with an RPN Footcare Nurse, the program focuses on providing foot care to those at highest risk for debility or pain and requiring assistance with maintenance of overall foot health, prevention of complications such as wounds or infections, and treatment of pathological conditions of the foot. We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing high quality patient-centered footcare, is well organized and can work both independently and in a team environment. The Chiropodist is encouraged to practice within their full scope of practice in the provision of services, including active treatment of acute conditions and surgical procedures. This position comes with paid vacation and an opportunity to enroll in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science and/or Graduate of an accredited school of Chiropody
  • Current and valid license with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
  • Current Ontario Drivers’ License, access to a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel
  • Experience with clinical electronic medical record/scheduler an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interprofessional environment

NURSE PRACTITIONER – Primary Care
Permanent Full Time

An exciting opportunity is available for a Permanent Full Time Nurse Practitioner at the Northumberland Family Health Team (NFHT). The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a valued member of our team, diagnosing and treating patients of all ages. The NP providing medical care, education and coordination of care for patients experiencing a spectrum of medical issues from new life events to episodic illness to chronic disease. The Nurse Practitioner works closely with our associated physicians, providing care to patients enrolled in their medical practices in a shared care model and with the support of our interprofessional team/programs, including pharmacy, mental health, physiotherapy, seniors’ wellness/occupational therapy, footcare, chronic pain, chronic disease management and prevention and wellness programs. This position comes with paid vacation, paid time and expenses for professional development and enrollment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).

Must Haves:
• Current registration (or eligible for registration) will the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Nurse Practitioner – Primary Health Care (NP-PHC)
• Graduate of a recognized Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program
• Current membership with RNAO/NPAO, including professional liability insurance program
• Basic CPR certification
• Current Ontario Drivers’ License
• Strong clinical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and nurture positive working relationships both within and outside of NFHT You will stand out as a candidate if you also have:
• Experience in community and/or primary care medicine
• Proficient computer skills and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)

Temporary Part Time Registered Nurse 

Northumberland Family Health Team (NFHT) is seeking a Temporary Part Time Registered Nurse to work in a fast paced medical clinic as part of an inter-professional team providing primary health care. This is a 0.5 part time position alternating two and three days per week (weekday day shifts). This nurse works to their full scope of practice in a patient-centered model of care and provides clinical assessment, treatment and education/support to primary care patients. The position requires excellent health assessment/clinical skills and the ability to perform the full range of duties and responsibilities including well-baby assessments, immunizations, chronic disease management and health promotion. The successful candidate will be well organized problem solver able to work both independently and also within a team environment.
