Launch of Northumberlandcare.com to connect patients with/without a family doctor to doctors

Virtual care is now available for Northumberland resident patients without a family doctor. Individuals in Northumberland that have a family doctor can use the new website www.northumberlandcare.com to find the best way to reach their family doctor during this time.

Those without a family doctor can use northumberlandcare.com to speak to the next available family doctor and find out how to contact their office during specified times. It is anticipated that a doctor will be available for 3 hours a day, 6 days a week.

Please see more details on the website or on this Northumberland Care Press Release 2020-03-22.

Are you looking for a Family Doctor?

We do not keep a waiting list for people looking for a family doctor.

Health Care Connect is a program that helps you find a doctor if you don’t have one. It is run by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.  You can also use the program to change family health care providers, but only after you drop off your current family health care provider’s patient list. Once you register with Health Care Connect a Care Connector will search for a doctor in our community that is accepting new patients. About 80% of people who join the program find a family health care provider this way.

You can reach Health Care Connect at 1-800-445-1822 or visit Ontario.ca/healthcareconnect.

Our family doctors will notify Health Care Connect directly when they are rostering new patients.
